Hokkaido Restaurant

Last Saturday, I had dinner with a bunch of friends at Hokkaido Restaurant. FYI, it's a Chinese restaurant. It doesn't have a certified halal from JAKIM but it's well known among muslims that the restaurant serves halal food (no pork or lard, actually). In fact, there were like 7 or tables with muslims there while I was there. So, if you're interested, go. If still in doubt..don't.

My friend had this craving for chili crabs, so that's what we had.

That's not only thing that we had..hehehe..Here's almost overall of what we had :

2 style chili crabs, dried chili prawns and butter prawn, dried chili scallops, steamed fish, calamari fritters, veges, sweet buns and rice, also fruit platter for dessert.

In my opinion every dish was great. Except I thought that the chili crab lacks a bit of kick. But some of my friends said that it was hot enough for them. Taste is subjective, people. So unless you tried, you won't know for sure. Overall, it was all good enough for me.

I am not sure of the price for each dish but there where 10 of us and when the bill came, we each had to pay around RM53 each. This was including drinks (which some had 2 or 3 glasses). Not bad, for a KL restaurant and Chinese cooking.

To those interested, the restaurant is located at Jalan Lumut, Off Jalan Ipoh KL. It's situated exactly opposite of Vistana Hotel main entrance. The restaurant opens at 6pm. Parking is not a hassle if you arrive early.
